Who's been painting my roses red?

Who's been painting my roses red? / Who dares to taint / With vulgar paint / The royal flower bed? / For painting my roses red / Someone will lose his head!

This quote from alice and wonderland, the queen of hearts ran through my head a million times as I hand made and painted each rose for Jolisa and Trevor.
Their colors at their wedding were black red and silver, she requested to have roses cascading down one side and to incorporate silver somewhere in the cake. I put big glass diamonds and strung them from the top of the cake and tucked a few into the roses.

This cake is my favorite vanilla cake with vanilla icing.
Hope you two had a wonderful day, and I hope you all enjoyed the cake!

'Cupcake in a Jar'

I was inspired to create these pretty desserts, after watching Unwrapped on the Food Network. They are Cupcakes in a Jar, and today i used whatever i could find in my cupboards; Chocolate, marshmellows, and toasted walnuts. All these ingredients make up the classic flavor of 'Rocky Road' (my favorite).
I baked chocolate cupcakes and cut them into three layers, then started stacking and putting my rocky road combo in between each cupcake layer. Then to top it all off i put them under the broiler to toast the tops of them all.

Tom & Lindsey

This project took me a little longer than I anticipated, in order for me to complete 135 chocolate cherry cupcakes and individual hand made roses, I had to be well prepared and very concentrated on the each task. I'm very thankful to have a fantastic baker for a mom who helped me bake all the cupcakes, if she wasn't there I think I would still be in my kitchen covered in chocolate batter.

Congrats Tom & Lindsey! Thanks for asking me to make your cake and cupcakes.

Jon & Kim Buhler

Our Friends Jon and Kim got married this weekend, and asked for a simple vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, it matched their decor perfectly, as they chose the same flowers as their centerpieces and filigree design on the ribbion.

Thanks, and I hope you enjoyed the cake!

A Cake for Mandy

This cake is being delivered all the way to texada island, for Amanda's auntie's wedding this weekend. Each tier has three layers of vanilla cake filled with buttercream frosting.

I hand made the roses and used a stiching tool to make the top and bottom tiers appear quilted.

Thanks Mandy for hiring me to make your cake!

2nd attempt (worse than #1)
3rd times the charm!

This is not as easy as i thought it would be. But with a little practice
and proper tools, its not so bad.
